Ferran Torres ‘offered’ back to Man City plus more transfer rumours

With the sale of Ferran Torres to Barcelona in the books, Man City will turn their attention to bringing in his replacement as soon as possible.

According to a report by Tutto Mercato Web, in-demand Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic ‘would only accept Chelsea and Manchester City’ should he make a switch to the Premier League in the summer.

City spent the summer chasing Tottenham striker Harry Kane but failed in their pursuit, forcing Torres to deputise as the central striker under Pep Guardiola.

Vlahovic has all the tools to not only lead the line but finish the chances City’s playmakers produce every game.

Tutto Mercato Web go on to say that while the 21-year-old has no interest in making the move to Arsenal, seeing them as a ‘an intermediate career step’.

There’s also every possibility that Torres’ replacement ends up being Torres himself.

According to Cadena Ser, the Spanish side have offered their new signing back to City amid concerns they won’t be able to register the forward.

Due to crippling finances which led to Lionel Messi leaving the club in the summer, Barca may be unable to register Torres to play for them in the second-half of the season if they cannot sell some players.

If that is the case, Torres could return to the Etihad.

“The reality is that when we signed Ferran we knew we had no salary to register him just yet,” Barca’s director of football Mateu Alemany said.

“We assume we can and we have been working on various ways in which to do this.

“We are convinced that we will achieve it before Sunday [when Barcelona play Granada].”
