George Russell slams ‘erratic’ Max Verstappen as fans spot ‘poshest complaint ever’

F1 fans have joked about how”posh” George Russell is after the Brit fumed at Max Verstappen’s “erratic” driving in Baku on Saturday.

Minutes after the green flag was waved at qualifying for the Azerbaijan GP, Russell was on the radio with his team principal to complain about the Dutchman. He fumed to the pits: “Verstappen is driving in an erratic manner.”

Verstappen has drawn criticism from other drivers over the course of his career, but F1 fans loved the manner that Russell tackled the issue. Fans joked it was the “poshest” complaint about Verstappen’s driving that has been caught on the mic.

One fan – seemingly in need of a dictionary – joked: “Russell is so posh what the f*** does erratic mean!”

A second viewer joked: “Every driver: ‘Verstappen’s crazy man, he’s all over the f****** place…’ Russell: ‘Excuse me, dear sir, but Verstappen appears to be driving in an erratic manner…’.” Meanwhile, a third fan added: “This man is so incredibly British.”

However, not all fans took the side of 24-year-old Russell, who was born in King’s Lynn, Norfolk before growing up in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire and attending private Wisbech Grammar School. One viewer said: “Had enough with the George Russell the posh neek, hope his engine fails.”
