Driven to compete at a high level, Levy was a member of the Great Britain’s U-25 team that brought home the squad’s first European gold medal. In addition to this, Freya will also head out of the six nations as the only female in the England wheelchair rugby 7s squad later this year.

On how she started rugby, Freya told Sky Sports: “A family friend had a match and they needed extra players… they knew I played basketball and could compete in a chair, so they asked me to come down, and I give it a go and I really fell in love. It kind of picked up from there.”

After discovering her talent for this game, Freya has become one of the stars of the Kart based Argonauts team which reached this year’s wheelchair Challenge Cup finals. According to her, l it was not easy at the beginning.

Freya added: “The tactics were probably the hardest things to learn – I’m a southerner and kind of used to union, so I definitely had to learn a lot for the skills for rugby league.

“I did find it quite simple to kind of slot into, but obviously, it becomes more challenging at this level. So I’m really up for that challenge.”

The ambitious triple sports star is excited with her personal progress, especially the prospect of her success story inspiring more women to get into the lesser sports.

“It’s great to be able to represent my county in so many sports and with that comes being able to promote the lesser-known sports like Para ice hockey to encourage more females to get involved,” Freya stated.

Freya’s ultimate sporting ambition is to dream as big as possible with summer Paralympics as her ultimate target.
