The Best New Movies To Stream On Netflix, HBO, Amazon, Peacock And Disney+ This Weekend


If you’re like me, then you have multiple subscriptions to several different streaming platforms—which are all constantly adding new movies. Which begs the question each successive weekend: What do I watch?

For me, it helps to have all of those new movies in one place. So in this article, I’ll run through the biggest new films on Netflix

Tick, Tick… Boom! (Netflix)

On the cusp of his 30th birthday, a promising young theater composer navigates love, friendship and the pressures of life as an artist in New York City.

King Richard (HBO Max)

Armed with a clear vision and a brazen, 78-page plan, Richard Williams is determined to write his two daughters, Venus and Serena, into history. Training on tennis courts in Compton, Calif., Richard shapes the girls’ unyielding commitment and keen intuition. Together, the Williams family defies seemingly insurmountable odds and the prevailing expectations laid before them.

Here Comes the Boom (Amazon Prime)

Once a collegiate wrestler, Scott Voss is now a 42-year-old, apathetic biology teacher in a failing high school. When cutbacks threaten the school’s music program and its teacher, Scott springs into action. He dusts off his long-unused wrestling skills and earns money for the program by moonlighting as a mixed martial arts fighter.

Teach (Peacock)

An eighty minute film, directed by Davis Guggenheim and produced by Participant Media, about what’s working in our public schools – specifically, that at the heart of every great education is great teaching.

A Muppets Christmas: Letters To Santa (Disney+)

The Muppets go on a Christmas mission to personally deliver three letters to Santa Claus, accidentally diverted by Gonzo, to the North Pole.

Extinct (Netflix)

Op and Ed accidentally time-travel from the Galapagos Islands in 1835 to present-day Shanghai. They make their way through the city in confusion and make the horrifying discovery that the species to which they belong became extinct shortly after.
