Manchester City vs Leicester prediction and odds: In-form City can continue fine run at the Etihad

Check out our 9/10 Manchester City vs Leicester City prediction below

There is just no stopping Manchester City right now and Leicester City are unlikely to buck that trend at the Etihad on Boxing Day.

Yet again, city are a ridiculously short price (1/6 with Grosvenor Sport ) to win a Premier League home game but that is merely a reflection of the levels Pep Guardiola’s side are performing to this season.

City are on track to break their previous best season average xGA of 0.70, achieved in 2018/19 and they have won their last two Premier League matches by an aggregate score of 11 to nil.

And it’s at home where they are their most imperious defensively. Manchester City have conceded just three goals in NINE Premier League matches at the Etihad this term and Crystal Palace scored two of those in a single afternoon.

The task facing Leicester is enormous and, if the reverse fixture at the King Power in September is anything to go by, bordering on impossible. The 1-0 scoreline to City masked an utterly dominant performance from a City side that racked up 25 efforts on goal, whilst limiting the hosts to just a single shot on target.

Leicester have been underperforming in the main this term, especially defensively where they just cannot keep a clean sheet, and they will do well to break that trend against a rampant Manchester City who are just racking up high quality chances no matter who they play.

Brendan Rodgers side somehow managed to snatch defeat from the claws of victory against an understrength Liverpool side in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night and that might take some getting over.

Maddison has put Leicester 3-1 up at Anfield.

Manchester City vs Leicester City prediction

Leicester stunned the Etihad faithful in this fixture last season but it takes a leap of faith to think this will go the same way. No side has scored more goals at home (25) and conceded less (3) than Manchester City and they head into this fixture on an eight-game winning run in the Premier League.

Leicester have only won two of their eight away matches and they are a huge 14/1 to repeat last season’s Etihad heroics but everything points to City cranking up the pressure on their title rivals and their record at home points to them doing so without conceding. Back to win to nil at 9/10.

Recommended bet: Manchester City to win to nil – 9/10
