Manchester United transfer news LIVE Man United vs Burnley highlights plus Cristiano Ronaldo updates

Manchester United beat Burnley 3-1 in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

United returned from their enforced break – due to the Covid-19 outbreak at the club – against Newcastle earlier in the week, but the display wasn’t worth waiting for as Ralf Rangnick’s side stumbled to a 1-1 draw against one of the league’s relegation candidates.

But Thursday’s performance was a step in the right direction, as United got back to winning ways in the top-flight.

United took the lead on seven minutes through Scott McTominay and that was the first time United have scored in the opening 15 minutes of a Premier League game all season – they were actually the last team in the division to do so.

Sancho doubled the lead – that strike was later marked as an own goal – and Ronaldo made it three with a tap in, but Burnley struck back just before half-time through Aaron Lennon. The second half was quiet as United made sure of the result.
