Searches for ‘ginger hair dye’ skyrocket by 1,150% after Harry and Meghan’s card

Searches for “ginger hair dye” have skyrocketed by 1,150% following the release of Harry and Meghan’s Christmas card.

The card – which was released on Thursday afternoon – featured a lovely family portrait of the Duke and Duchess, along with their two children, son Archie and daughter Lilibet.

This was the first photograph that the pair have released of young Lilibet, who was born in June this year.

While overwhelmed social media users admitted they were breaking down in tears in response to the Sussexes new family photo, others pointed out the colour of the kids’ hair.

In the happy family portrait both Archie and Lilibet can be seen with their dad’s unmistakably ginger hair colour.

A new finding by hair experts Longevita reveals that online searches for “ginger hair dye” shot up to over 11 times the average volume in one hour following the release of the Christmas card, in an unprecedented spike, according to analysis of Google search data.

A spokesperson for Longevita commented on the findings: “Ever since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped down from working royal life, they have been incredibly selective about the appearances they make and what they choose to share with the public, keeping their two children out of the limelight to provide them with a private upbringing.

“However, these findings highlight the enormous influence the entire family has on the world, with a single picture prompting a monumental increase in searches for hair dye, in order to replicate the Duke and his son’s hair style.

“It is a testament to the couple’s popularity that they are consistently inspiring people around the world, despite leaving the limelight of the British Royal Family to pursue a more private life.”
