The clinics where you can walk in and get vaccines and boosters in Greater Manchester over Christmas

Covid cases are continuing to skyrocket across the country, prompting health leaders to encourage people to seek a jab over the Christmas period.

All adults over 18 are able to get their booster, as long as they have had their second jab three months ago.

For adults, if you had your first dose eight weeks ago, you can now get your second jab.

Teenagers aged 16 and 17 can get a first dose and second dose (at least 12 weeks after their first).

Most children aged 12 to 15 are currently only being offered one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, accompanied by a parent or carer to provide consent.

Booster doses are also available to:

  • people aged 16 and over with a health condition that puts them at high risk of getting seriously ill from Covid-19
  • carers aged 16 and over
  • people aged 16 and over who live with someone who is more likely to get infections (such as someone who has HIV, has had a transplant or is having certain treatments for cancer, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis)

The following groups of children and young people will be invited proactively for two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine:

  • ‘At risk’ 12 to 15 year olds with certain underlying health conditions.
  • Children aged 12 and over without underlying medical conditions who live with people who are immunosuppressed.

For those who have recently had Covid:

  • Over-18s who have recently had Covid should wait 28 days after a positive test to have any dose of the vaccine.
  • Under-18s who have recently had Covid should wait 12 weeks after a positive test before getting the vaccine.

Clinics have now expanded to meet demand across Greater Manchester, with a number of walk-in services available, as well as booked appointments.

Here are the local centres where you can grab a jab in the 10 boroughs this week by just walking in. Go to the linked websites for more information about when you can book appointments if needed.
